Black Pepper is called “king of spices”. Black pepper comes from dried unripe fruit of a plant called Pepper nigrum. Black pepper is used widely all over the world. Black pepper is found mostly in Kerala India, Vietnam, Brazil, and Indonesia. Black pepper has an active compound called piperine. It has powerful antioxidant properties. Black pepper has anti-inflammatory properties that help with healing inflammation.


Black pepper can also help with diabetes and hypertension. It also helps in weight loss by increasing the metabolic rate.


Black pepper is safe for consumption but in large quantities can give a burning sensation in the throat and stomach.


Black pepper is used in Indian cooking in curries, marinades, chutneys, vegetables, and salads.


Black pepper can be stored in a dry cool place for a long time.
